Hello Inika,

Of course we are providing support to our products, if you look into the previous posts in this forum, you will see that most of the questions are answered very quickly. Also our mail accounts should be working as we already received some mails today !?!?

As your question, you are right, required field property does not change when you apply the script. Actually, we are very sure that we are changing that property using ADOX within our scriptrunner application but this does not affect the database as it should, because there is data in that table. The solution resides on re-creating  that column and moving the column data but the current engine behind CompareLib cannot handle this. We'll adress this in the new version of the software...

Please let us know if we can be any further help...

Thank you for answering so quickly. Your answer looks well but is a pain because of that. In spite of I think the comparator engine should detect and at least to warn the difference of two fields with requiered field that not match. Is my opinion. In some circustances it may be critical.

Could we wait for a proximal patch or the new version will take long to go on road. Could we look for another tool and perhaps use both together...Dont know.

THank you. And sorry if I'm too direct but I really thing a tool like yours is essential for a database programmer.

Ah! Do the scipt erase and recreate all the relations each time it runs? I hope no.

Requiered fiels apears always true at any destination field ? Even if is false ? So lot of tables looks different ?? At least the source looks OK and really is the most important for me because it is the 'master' I I run the button that makes destination like source.

In my oppinion the rigth button (for viewing details and essential) is a little hidden, dont you think so?

Runs really well with Relations and Indexes!!

What about a progress bar running the script? Or undedicated mode or running it?

Will see in the new version but in general is OK.

Hello Inika,

Unfortunately, there won't be any patch for the current version for this required field bug. As we said, this needs quite a bit work and the current engine cannot be changed easily for this. We are going to adress this in the next major version which we don't have any exact release date now.

Actually, required field might not be so important depending on your usage. If you are letting only MSAccess to return you an error about those fields when no data is present than you are right, that's a real problem for you. But if you are doing this check within your front end, than it might not.

Index and Relations do need to be dropped and re-created otherwise changes on fields would be un-successful most of the time because of this. But as you see, they are created as it's original state quite well...

GUI will be re-created too in the new version so we'll provide a much more advanced and clearer interface.

ScriptRunner is also provided as a simple sample to run your script rather than providing an advanced tool. It's full source is provided to you if you purchase so you can modify it as your wish or convert it to your own development environment.

Please let us know if we can be any further help...
